player. 54. . . . Howie Roseman, vice president/GM.

Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie

Well, you can’t fire Jeffrey Lurie, but if he’s going to be the meddlesome owner, he can at least do Eagles fans a solid and rid this team of the disease that is Howie Roseman. Philly’s vice president/general manager has one redeeming quality. No one can accuse this man of having a lack of desire to see this team win.

Unfortunately, too often, there are times when it appears that he has absolutely and positively no idea how to do the three things that he’s here to do.

Howie’s three major areas of focus, year-in and year-out, are managing the salary cap, strengthening this team through free agency and the draft, and ensuring that this franchise fields the best team possible.

Do we need to get into any of this? Do we need to talk about the bad contracts, the bad decisions in free agency, and the poor drafting? How many times can that be done before we get sick of doing so?

We all have job descriptions in our careers. Sometimes, however, we’re better at identifying the responsibilities of others. Raise your hand if you’ve had a coworker let you down. Give a wink if you’ve ever gone home irritated because that coworker’s ineffectiveness at doing their job has made your day or night unbearable.

light. Trending. Regrading Howie Roseman’s 2018 draft class

Eagles Nation is a family, and at times, being a member feels like a job. Howie is the reason we’re frustrated. Howie is the reason, more often than not, that this team underachieves.

You can point to the Super Bowl win, but that’s the exception to the rule. That’s the outlier. The fact of the matter is this. Great coaches won’t come here as long as he’s around. Just ask Brandon Staley. This team will never win consistently as long as he’s around.
