Despite another Philadelphia Eagles loss, we’re handing out game balls anyway.

It didn’t seem like we’d be saying this so quickly after watching the Philadelphia Eagles go on so many offensive droughts in the earlier stages of the season, but it appears that they’ve found some identity.

Despite the fact that running the ball may not be what the Eagles brass is looking for from the aspect of their ‘organizational philosophy’, at this point of his development, it’s pretty easy to see that balance has been the best elixir for Jalen Hurts‘ early-season woes.

They were a joy to watch in Week 9. Unfortunately, the defense couldn’t get one more stop and give Philly’s offense one more chance. Had they done so, the result might have been different.

Losing sucks, but there’s a way to do it and still look respectable. The Birds fought until the end, and that’s all that someone can ask for. Still, there’s a lot to build on as the attention shifts to a road game versus the Denver Broncos. Week 9 provided ups and downs, winners and losers. Let’s take a look at both, including an MVP for both the offense and defense.

DeVonta Smith, wide receiver

How about a round of applause for the rookie, DeVonta Smith? He hauled in five passes for 116 yards and reached the end zone in a nice outing in which he very easily could have scored twice.

T.J. Edwards, linebacker

T.J. Edwards is a stud! Period! There are all of these stories about him being too slow, but he sure has gotten everywhere that he’s needed to get over the past two weeks in a hurry. He had 12 tackles in this one. Five of them were solo stops.
