3 Keys to a Philadelphia Eagles win over the Broncos in Week 10
Philadelphia Eagles defense needs to force turnovers against the Broncos
Forcing turnovers does so many things for a team. It can create short fields for the offense to work with. It also lights a fire under the guys playing on defense, especially if they score. Turnovers provide extra jolts of energy and can shift momentum.
In the Philadelphia Eagles’ last two wins versus the Broncos, the defense did their part, and that helped the offense cruise to an easy win. In 2017, they intercepted two passes and sacked the quarterback three times. They also held Brock Osweiler’s to a 50-percent completion percentage. In the 2009 win, the defense tallied three sacks and had an interception.
Hopefully, this is a bounceback game for Javon Hargrave who leads the team with six sacks. Darius Slay, if he plays (and it’s looking like he will) will need to lead the secondary. A game-altering pick in this one will be ideal.
Philly’s secondary can’t allow easy completions or the ball to get into the hands of the Broncos’ wide receivers without challenging them. If they can force a few turnovers, it will take the pressure off of the offense and help the Eagles to a comfortable win.
This game looks to be a high-scoring affair, but the Eagles hope the higher point total isn’t on the Broncos’ side of the scoreboard. No one minds the Broncos sweeping the rest of the NFC East, but Philly will be looking to bring that winning streak to a halt.
