Jalen Hurts report card versus Broncos: Eagles QB impresses again
Jalen Hurts’ final grades for Week 10
Okay, so here we are. 14 games of the Jalen Hurts era as Philadelphia’s quarterback are behind us, and his record stands at five games with nine losses. Before you use that as your measuring stick, however, we can’t go any further before we acknowledge a few things.
One, no one believed that this Eagles team would challenge anyone for a playoff spot, yet here we are. Philly may not make the postseason. If you were to put money on the subject, it still might be wise to assume that they wouldn’t, but they have a shot.
Hurts is a big reason for that. He’s done exactly what’s been asked of him. He’s improved, and he’s made his case for remaining in the lineup as this team’s franchise quarterback. The NFL is a week-to-week league. Let’s see how he does in Week 11 versus the New Orleans Saints, but QB1 gets straight As following Week 10’s game.
He looked really good in moments during his four-game run as the starter during the 2020 season. He was masterful in Week 1 versus the Atlanta Flacons, but in just ten weeks of the 2021-2022 season, he’s continued to climb and make a name for himself.
The Eagles were expected to lose this one. This was a game played at Empower Field at Mile High which is always a tough place to play. The Birds were expected to be dominated by a stingy Broncos defense, and in the midst of that, Hurts delivered an A1 performance.
So, with all of that being said, here’s an answer to the question that we asked earlier. Was this the best performance of Jalen Hurts’ young career? You had better believe that it absolutely was.
