Top 3 Reasons Jalen Hurts won’t survive and be Eagles starter in 2022
By Ryan Loftus
The Eagles have draft stock to replace Jalen Hurts if need be.
While the quarterback class in next year’s NFL Draft has been described by Luke Easterling of DraftWire by using words such as ‘lackluster’ (and that was before Spencer Rattler fell off), if the Philadelphia Eagles see a signal-caller that they like, they have enough draft capital to maneuver around the draft board with ease.
With three first-round picks, assuming Carson Wentz stays on the path he’s one and remains healthy, the Birds pretty much have more than their fair share of control in determining the route that next April’s selection meeting will take.
Now, with great power comes great responsibility. This draft doesn’t have anything comparable to Kyler Murray, Joe Burrow, or Trevor Lawrence. This means that the Eagles have to really be in on a player if they want to take him. All of the top quarterbacks in the draft essentially are boom-or-bust prospects, so if the Eagles do decide to turn to the draft for a QB, they will most likely start him right away.
If that’s the case, this will effectively end Hurts’ short tenure in Philly.
