Jalen Hurts could have already reached his ceiling, and it isn’t at the elite level.

It may seem hard to believe with the crazy upsets happening in the league this year, but usually, there is consistency in the NFL. Players such as Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Matthew Stafford have been good in this league for many years, and continue to be great.

A nice future highlighted by consistently good QBs seems to be forming with the emergence of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Justin Herbert. Jalen Hurts, with consistency, could become a part of this young group of stars, but due to his inconsistencies, he’s currently held out of the discussion.

Hurts already knows how to limit his mistakes. He had only thrown five interceptions before his three-interception outing in Week 12 versus New York and has a good football IQ, which is always pleasant to see in a young QB.

In spite of this, Hurts’ inconsistencies, especially the ones related to his throwing talent, will keep him from becoming an elite QB if they aren’t fixed. Hurts too often fails at finding or hitting wide-open targets and it’s helped cost the Eagles a few more wins on the season.

Many of Hurts’ interceptions haven’t come from Hurts’ poor football IQ. They’ve instead been the result of poor placement of the ball and a lack of zip on his throws. Arm strength is a question mark. Hurts could fix this issue, but Philly, thanks to Be Simmons, isn’t as patient as it once was in terms of mechanics, and many fans are losing patience with Hurts’ issues already. Might the Eagles be losing patience as well.
