4 Eagles that need a change of scenery in 2022 offseason
The Eagles have a few mainstays that may be in need of a fresh start.
As easy as it is to find fault in the job that Aaron Moorehead has done with every Eagles’ wide receivers corps that he’s been in charge of, it’s equally as easy to find people who have great things to say about him. With that being said, something must be mentioned.
Aaron Moorehead seems to be a great guy. The guys that play for him seem to love him. Still, one thing can’t be ignored. Young players who have talent don’t improve under his watch. Veteran players that come to Philadelphia to play wide receiver or the ones that are already here all regress under his watch.
Maybe the problem isn’t that Jalen Reagor sucks. Maybe the problem is Jalen Reagor needs a better coach. No one’s saying that it’s Moorehead’s fault that Reagor dropped two passes that could have won the Eagles the game, but come on, some of this has to fall in the lap of this unit’s leader, and that never seems to happen.
DeVonta Smith is the exception to those rules, but here’s what must be taken into account. DeVonta Smith is so good that it’s easy to give Moorehead credit for his success when, in actuality, Smith’s very respectable rookie season could be more about the work ethic and talent than anything his position coach is doing. There’s a possibility that he’s been successful not because of Aaron Moorehead but in spite of him.
It’s for that reason, that, though we have nothing bad to say about him as a person, there are easy arguments that can be made for why he needs to be given his walking papers ad rest somewhere else, but he’s not the only Eagle that falls into that category. Here are four other franchise mainstays that fall under the same category.
