There’s movement at the NovaCare Complex! Monday leading up to the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Week 15 clash versus the Washington Football Team was just about as busy as some of you might expect. The practice squad’s roster was shuffled some with the reacquisition of a familiar face.

According to an official team report, cornerback Mac McCain is back with the team following his release from the active roster so that the Eagles’ could make room to elevate former Eagles practice squad mainstay, offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark. According to another report that followed a little over an hour later, two more Birds, including the team’s best deep-threat, may not be with Philly for their next practice session, maybe even longer

Bad news comes for Jason Huntley and Quez Watkins ahead of the Eagles’ next game.

Chris McPherson reports the Philadelphia Eagles are placing running back Jason Huntley and wide receiver Quez Watkins on their Reserve/COVID-19 list. Watkins has appeared in all of the Eagles’ previous 13 games this season, making ten starts over that time frame after six in-game appearances as a rookie in 2020. Jason Huntley has spent the entire 2021 regular season on Philadelphia’s practice squad. A season ago, he appeared in nine games, tallying 19 rushing yards on five carries.

Watkins is also the Eagles’ best deep threat. He’s racked up a rather respectable 31 receptions over the course of the campaign. That’s resulted in 491 receiving yards. Three of his catches in 2021 exceeded the 40-yard threshold including a 91-yard bomb in Week 2 versus the San Francisco 49ers.

That one doubles as the fifth-longest reception in franchise history. At the time of this story being written and published, no moves were made to fill the void Watkins leaves on the active roster, but if he isn’t cleared by gameday, the expectation is that Philly will elevate someone from the practice squad to fill the available space.
