Philadelphia Eagles 2022 full NFL mock draft: December edition
By Ryan Loftus
The Philadelphia Eagles round out their draft with a few rotational players.
Right now, the Eagles have a running back problem. Miles Sanders is looking less and less like ‘the guy’ every season, and he reaggravated a previous injury he sustained earlier in the season versus the Jets.
Boston Scott has barely gotten any serious playing time, and Kenneth Gainwell has been in and out of the lineup, once as a healthy scratch list.
Jordan Howard, seemingly the best of the Eagles’ tailbacks this season has also shown chinks in the armor. Kennedy Brooks brings in what the Eagles have needed since the days of LeGarrette Blount and Jay Ajayi: a true bruiser.
Brooks’ wide frame and athletic ability have analysts comparing him to Derrick Henry. Pairing him with the current Eagles halfback corps could result in astounding success.
It may sound crazy after taking a chance on Landon Dickerson last year, but the need for offensive linemen in Philly is real. That’s a good reason to take Utah Utes center Nick Ford with their final pick of the draft, unless they trade for more picks or trade back.
Ford is six-foot-five. He tips the scales at 317 pounds. That makes him a perfect choice to play the center position.
A successor for Jason Kelce is needed as he isn’t getting any younger. He’s also been banged up more as of late. The guy that’s been backing him up, Nate Herbig, seemingly doesn’t even know how to snap the football, so the least Ford could be is an emergency center in case the Birds need him.
With Walker and Ford, The Eagles will have a nice core for the future that includes Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, and Jack Driscoll. That should put a smile on any Eagles fan’s face.
