58. Final. 24. 54. 20

The Philadelphia Eagles match Washington’s 2021 season sweep with one of their own.

This next statement doesn’t get talked about very often. Maybe it’s not important, but when one has too much time on his or her hands, these are the types of things that people who overthink things ponder.

What if the Eagles hadn’t pulled Jalen Hurts in the second half of last year’s season finale? Keep in mind the fact that he had this team in a position to win.

Philly’s leadership didn’t like that. They were thinking about draft positioning, and before you could say ‘please don’t put Nate Sudfeld in’, the backup had taken over.

In the end, the Birds wound up with DeVonta Smith, so it wasn’t a total loss. What if though? What if Jalen Hurts had stayed in? We could have learned a lot.

It would have been nice to see if the guy making his fourth start could have led his team to victory. Hurts would have been 2-2 in his first four starts had he won. How would we have discussed him during the offseason had that been the case?

Again, in the end, maybe it doesn’t matter. Maybe this is all to do about nothing. The Philadelphia Eagles’ next two games versus Washington are of huge significance, and as you can see by the predicted result, the belief here is the Birds will return the favor and avenge last year’s sweep by Washington with a sweep of their own.
