2 Philadelphia Eagles who weren’t in the stud or dud category

Let’s be honest. Most of us have no idea what it’s like to have a 16-day layoff at the end of an NFL season. These guys had to be rusty. It wasn’t a totally-clean performance by both of these guys, but in the case of Darius Slay, we believe he can right the ship.

Half and half: Darius Slay, cornerback

In all honesty, you won’t find bigger Slay fans than the ones we have on the Inside The Iggles roster. If Big Play doesn’t find his way onto the Pro Bowl roster, there needs to be some sort of investigation. Still, even with that being said, even Slay will tell you that what we saw from him during Week 15 wasn’t representative of his best work.

He got burned on a deep ball to Terry Mclaurin on Washington’s second offensive drive, but come on. That’s Terry McLaurin. He was out of position on a few other occasions, but other than a late-long gainer by John Bates that set up Washington’s second touchdown, Slay was still pretty solid.

Place him in the ‘other’ category.

Half and half: Jalen Reagor, wide receiver

Perhaps one of the greatest things we saw from the special teams unit, outside of two made field goals by Jake Elliott, was Michael Clay’s decision to replace Jalen Reagor with Kenneth Gainwell as the kick returner. Now, he just needs to find another punt returner.

Sure, Reagor had a nice catch in the first half, and that long-gainer down the right sideline to le. Still, overall, watching him play football is a sickening way to spend the evening.
