What ifs are the stuff that week-long NFL discussions are made of. Here’s an example if you need one. What if the Philadelphia Eagles hadn’t dropped that Week 12 game to the New York Giants? How much would that have changed things?

The simple answer is this. Had the Eagles beaten the Giants on that day, an afternoon where seemingly nothing went right (outside of a decent effort by their defense of course), the Birds would be 8-6 right now and occupying the seventh seed in the NFC Playoffs.

Instead of that being the case, if the season were to end today, they’d be sitting just outside and looking in thanks, in large part, to a head-to-head loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.

There is hope. On Sunday, the Eagles are scheduled for the second game in their annual two-game clash with Big Blue. If they come out with a victory, revenge will be sweet, and their playoff hopes are still alive. If they falter again, well, we really don’t want to talk about that, do we? Let’s talk about some betting odds instead.

Eagles versus Giants Odds Week 16

WynnBET’s Week 16 betting odds favor Philadelphia by 9.5 points. Their moneyline is -440 compared to +350 for Big Blue. The over/under is set at 40.5 points.

Eagles versus Giants Prediction Week 16

Jalen Hurts had arguably the worst game of his NFL career so far versus this same Giants team. We’ve learned by now to trust his mental toughness, haven’t we? Sure, we have all have had our questions about him, but no one has any doubts about his heart do we?

If that loss upset us, how do you think he’s been feeling? It stands to reason that he’s thought about that game for the past month and is chomping at the bit to get back in the ring with these guys again. As a matter of fact, we’re counting on that being the case.

Prior to the Eagles’ Week 15 game versus the Washington Football Team, Hurts was 0-3 versus the NFC East as a starter. He’s gotten that monkey off of his back. Expect him to want to get that nasty taste he’s been chewing on out of his mouth and notch a second-straight win versus divisional competition.

The Giants, minus Daniel Jones, will equal their 13-point total from Week 12. The Birds, minus their head coach (Nick Sirianni), will remain focused and exceed their seven-point Week 12 total by four more scores.

Prediction: Eagles 31, Giants 13
