Jalen Hurts Week 16 report card vs Giants: Eagles QB gets his revenge
Jalen Hurts’ second start versus the Giants looked much better than his first.
Now, that’s more like it! The Philadelphia Eagles have seemingly righted the ship, and their controversial quarterback, Jalen Hurts, has a lot to do with that being the case.
There are areas for concern. As they’re currently constructed, Philadelphia has a long way to go before they can reclaim long-term dominance over the Dallas Cowboys. They’re clearly the class of the NFC East, and no Birds fan will be totally satisfied until the balance of power has been flipped.
There is a silver lining in that dark cloud, however. Prior to Week 15, Philly, despite losing two straight to the New York Giants, seemingly had Big Blue’s number. Following Sunday’s win, the Birds have taken 22 of the last 28 meetings between these age-old rivals.
Jalen Hurts, after losing his first three starts versus divisional competition, two versus Dallas and another versus the Washington Football Team in last season’s regular-season finale, has beaten both Washington and New York in consecutive weeks. He’s completed 37 of 55 pass attempts for 495 yards while compiling a three-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio.
Next up on the schedule is a road game versus Washington at FedExField, but before we spend the remainder of the week looking at that, here’s one last look at the job he did in Week 15 along with some grades.
