The Philadelphia Eagles‘ decision to draft Dallas Goedert in 2018 signified the changing of the guard at the tight end position. Zach Ertz was getting older, and Goedert eventually grew into a potential perennially top-ten tight end. Unfortunately, his physicality can bring injury along with it.

After winning Super Bowl LII, Philadelphia traded out of the first round in the 2018 NFL Draft and added Goedert, a six-foot-five prospect out of South Dakota State.

Dallas Goedert was a highly sought-after target that consistently made spectacular catches and powered his way through defenders. The main argument against Dallas Goedert was the questions about his durability.

Goedert’s played second-fiddle to Ertz but took over as TE1 when Ertz was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. During his first four seasons in the league, he produced 2196 yards and 16 touchdowns on 185 receptions, and he averaged 11.9 yards per reception. How are things going with those durability issues? We’re glad you asked.
