The Philadelphia Eagles need to make decisions on several veterans this offseason.

As we near the conclusion of the NFL’s 2021-2022 regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles, with less than a month of on-field action remaining, are still playing meaningful football. That’s all that any team can hope for at this point of the season.

As strange as it may sound, however, the excitement that has surrounded Philly’s late-season playoff push has been lacking. That’s true for two reasons.

One, no one’s expecting much from the Birds if they do wind up in the postseason, and second, every win seemingly jeopardizes the Eagles’ chances at landing one of the top first-round prospects in next April’s NFL Draft, even if they do have three first-round draft choices.

Wouldn’t you know it? We haven’t even reached the conclusion of Philadelphia’s current regular season, and we’re already thinking about how to make next season’s roster better than the current version. That won’t just include the introduction of a new class of rookies. A healthy mix of veterans is always key to the success of an NFL team as well.

The Birds figure to have draft capital (11 picks) and money to spend. In terms of the latter, it will be interesting to see who the team brings in from the next free-agent class and which of the potential free agents on their own roster are deemed unworthy of holding on to.

Here’s an attempt to help out in that regard. What follows is a list of four players that this team will be wise to move on from.
