The NFL is truly a week-to-week animal. Believe it or not, it wasn’t that long ago when we were discussing the Washington Football Team’s COVID-19 issues and how the NFL’s decision to force the Philadelphia Eagles to play a game on a Tuesday night was unfair.

When these two finally met in Week 15, both teams were 6-7, and the Birds were on the outside of the playoff picture. Philly won by a 27-17 margin, giving Washington their second loss in what’s now a three-game losing streak, and a win by the Birds in Week 17 will go a long way in strengthening the Eagles’ playoff chances while almost guaranteeing Washington’s shot at a postseason berth are over.

Here’ are the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team Week 17 inactives.

The Eagles are looking good ahead of game day. We all know that Miles Sanders won’t play in Week 17 thanks to that broken hand, but the Eagles won’t place him on the injured reserve in hopes that he may be back for the playoffs if Philadelphia gets in or, better yet, in hopes that he’s ack for Week 18’s season finale versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Fletcher Cox, Lane Johnson, and Jason Kelce were all given rest days on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, but they’ll be active on game day.

Friday’s status reports also listed Jordan Howard as questionable as he continues to heal from his stinger.

For the Washington Football Team, cornerback William Jackson III (calf) is out. Defensive end Montez Sweat (personal matter), wide receiver Curtis Samuel (hamstring), and defensive end James Smith-Williams (illness) are all questionable.

That four-game winning streak by Washington and that victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10 wasn’t even two months ago, but for football fans everywhere, it’s most definitely a distant memory now.
