The Philadelphia Eagles’ NFC East rivals won’t be pushovers these next two weeks

The Philadelphia Eagles, if the seasons were to end today, would occupy the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. All they need to do is win out to stay there. The next two teams they face, the Washington Football team and the Dallas Cowboys, mirror the Birds in that both have good rushing attacks. Philly’s defense will be tested in the last two games.

Washington, the Eagles, and the Cowboys are all also alike in the fact that they’re pretty solid in limiting the opposing offense’s rushing attack. They rank eighth, ninth, and 12th in terms of total yards allowed respectively.

Ezekiel Elliott and Antonio Gibson are among the NFL’s top eight rushers, and that poses a huge challenge for Philly’s rushing defense as they attempt to tune-up for the postseason.

The Washington Football team’s offense has struggled over the past two weeks, but the ground game has been a bright spot. Gibson also scored a receiving touchdown during Washington and Dallas’ Week 16 battle, a horrendous 56-14 loss by Washington to the Cowboys.

In Dallas’ last two games, Elliott and Tony Pollard have combined for 197 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Can the Birds rushing defense shut down both of these teams’ rushers? They definitely can! Here’s a quick breakdown of both matchups.
