Say it with us: Your playoff-bound Philadelphia Eagles. Heading into the 2021-2022 NFL regular season, we were talking about a rebuilding year.

This was supposed to be a throwaway season, a tune-up for 2022. This was supposed to be an 18-week, 17-game audition to determine whether or not Jalen Hurts would be this team’s franchise quarterback. Then, before you knew it, they were 2-5 before a nice late-season run, something we’re all familiar with, earned this team a playoff berth.

Come kickoff of Week 18’s regular-season finale, the second game of the annual two-game tilt versus the Dallas Cowboys, the Birds have a chance of putting a tenth game in the win column. What a season it’s been!

Christmas gets an extended stay for Philadelphia Eagles fans.

We talked about the fact that, if the Philadelphia Eagles could weather an early firestorm versus some superior teams, they’d find themselves in some games later in the season that are more winnable. There were times when we all doubted, but here we are.

Seven months ago, Inside the Iggles forecasted every game. Here’s what we came up with: a 9-8 win-loss total with the Eagles winning in the season finale versus Dallas.

People were outraged. They called us crazy, and guess what? With 16 games evaporated from the schedule, the Eagles sit at 9-7. Here’s where it gets interesting. We may have sold the Birds short.

Can this team win ten games? You better believe it, and following the holiday season and the introduction of another year, it’s almost like Christmas got an extended stay. We don’t have to wait until Sunday as we previously thought to see this one. The NFL has flexed the game to Saturday night, and it will now be played at 8:15 p.m. EST. This should be a lot of fun.
