Outside of gamedays, legendary Philadelphia Eagles announcer Merrill Reese doesn’t say much. He isn’t on Twitter every five minutes. Dave Spadaro isn’t reaching out to him every week for those cool drops you see on Philly’s social media accounts. He isn’t a regular on any ESPN or NFL Network show.

At best, we get Merrill for the expected three-hour radio call on gamedays, and then, he may pop up from time to time for an interview on 94 WIP-FM or a Fran Duffy podcast.

That’s one of the things that make Merrill so valuable. We don’t get enough of him, so when he does show up on Twitter or make a statement, it’s wise that you listen.

Eagles legend Merrill Reese trolls FedExField without saying a word.

By now, you’ve seen the scary tumble Eagles fans took at FedExField from multiple angles as well as how close they came to almost injuring Jalen Hurts in the fall. If you keep up with Tim McManus at all, you probably saw his tweet about the insensitivity that the event staff employed in tending to the victims of this unfortunate event.

If you missed any of that, here are a couple of looks

Unfortunate situations like this one are why Reese has been vocal about the fact that he isn’t a fan of FedExField and why he elected to skip the trip to Landover, Maryland for Week 17’s game. Instead, he, Mikes Quick, and the Eagles’ Spanish announcers, Rickie Ricardo and Oscar Budejen, called the game remotely using monitors a couple of hours north at Lincoln Financial Field.

In a recent story interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer, Ricardo had this to say:

"Merrill didn’t want to go to FedEx Field, which is a dump. You’re in the corner of the end zone under the overhang, and you can’t tell what’s going on because you’re so low, you can’t see the yard lines. It’s impossible."

Here’s some visual aid to drive the point home.

Now, what can you possibly say after that? Don’t expect anyone to plan any vacations with this place as a destination. If you’re wondering why the Eagles and Dallas Cowboys BOTH elected to fly their team benches into the stadium, look no further than stories like this one.

And you thought Veteran’s Stadium was a dump! Give us The Vet over this place any day!
