What if the Eagles had gotten more out of some guys they were banking on?

What constitutes labeling a Philadelphia Eagles star as a ‘bust’? Of course, draft positioning has to be a factor, right? No one ever talks about seventh-round draft busts. That’s typically a term we use for guys taken in the first or second round. They’re expected to play immediately.

Now, that we’ve established that, let’s identify some other things. Money matters. After all, it makes the world go ’round, and the NFL is a business.

That brings us to expectations. That’s a big one. Without expectations, there can’t be a disappointment, and in thinking of both, five Birds crossed our minds recently, including the 22nd-overall selection in the NFL Draft.

What might have been had the 2021-2022 Philadelphia Eagles gotten more out of these guys.

Andre Dillard. 5. player. 54. . .

When the Birds drafted Andre Dillard,

it made sense. Jason Peters was aging. Philly had this redheaded quarterback that they hoped would be a part of the organization for years to come.

Since then, we’ve questioned Dillard’s mental and physical toughness, and he lost his job to a seventh-round draft choice that never played the game of football before 2018 (Jordan Mailata). One game shy of a full 18-week, 17-game season in 2021, Dillard, a former first-rounder, has appeared in 30 games with eight starts.

Place his name on a list of the most disappointing Eagles this season. Here are four more that fall under the same category.
