8 First-round NFL Draft targets Eagles shouldn’t ignore (if they’re available)
Let’s talk about those three first-round picks the Eagles have in 2022.
It’s called the NFL season. We all know how the drill works by now though. When do the Philadelphia Eagles take time off? Like ever?
Once the regular season ends, it’s time to gear up for the NFC Playoffs. Once that’s over (hopefully, that will be in February), discussions about the NFL Scouting Combine, Pro Days at various schools, the Senior Bowl, and, eventually, the NFL Draft will take center stage.
Players and coaches get about a month off in the summer before training camp and the next preseason gets underway, but that’s about it. That’s your offseason.
That’s a long-winded way of stating our point. The NFL season never ends, and each of the 32 NFL franchises are always looking to get better. They’ve been talking about this year’s draft class since the last one heard many of their names called during the three-day selection meeting.
Philadelphia will be major players come next April with 11 draft picks, and it will be exciting to see how a playoff team upgrades with some new talent. With three first-round selections, we’ve identified eight players, two from four positions of need, that should be on the Eagles’ draft board when the commissioner, Roger Goodell, welcomes everyone to Las Vegas in April.
Kayvon Thibodeaux could be the best EDGE player on everyone’s board. He figures to be long gone by the time the Eagles are ready to make their first pick, so with that being said, each of the guys on this list should be no-brainers and players Philadelphia shouldn’t ignore. The only question is this. Should they pick the best player available or go with the best player at a position of urgent need?
