If you’re like us, you’re sick of hearing about how the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t drafted a linebacker in the first round of any NFL Draft since the 1979 selection meeting. It’s been proven over and over again that the Eagles haven’t valued the position as much as they should, but with three first-round draft picks, 2022 would be a nice time to buck tradition.

Damone Clark could prove to be the best of the coming draft class at the position. Some scouts have compared him to Micah Parsons. That alone should pique your interest.

Here’s how we round out the rest of our top five in terms of guys that can play the inside linebacker position: former Auburn Tigers star Zakoby McClain, Christian Harris of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Penn State Nittany Lion Brandon Smith, and the guy we see as the second-best prospect in the 2022 draft class at the position, Devin Lloyd, a six-foot-two and 228-pound standout from the Utah Utes.

With each passing week, his stock rises. A final season in Salt Lake City produced 111 tackles seven sacks, four interceptions, six pass breakups, and a forced fumble make it easy to see why that’s the case.

Lloyd would slide into the linebacker rotation with T.J. Edwards, Davion Taylor, and Alex Singleton (if the Eagles hang onto him) and make this unit very formidable.
