The Eagles won’t have to work hard to upgrade from JJ Arcega-Whiteside’s departure.

If the Philadelphia Eagles don’t get anything else from JJ Arcega-Whiteside from a production standpoint, his parting gifts to the organization would be what we saw from him in what might be his final game at Lincoln Financial Field in a midnight green jersey.

He dropped a pass in the end zone. He committed a penalty that wiped out an important reception just moments later (that’s the second time he’s done that this season). He dropped a pass that landed in the hands of a Dallas Cowboys defender for an interception.

Poll just about any segment of the Eagles’ fan base, and here’s what you’ll learn. JJAW can be deactivated tomorrow, and the majority of the people that pay this team any attention wouldn’t bat an eyelash.

One year remains on the rookie deal that he signed after Philadelphia decided to draft him 57th overall, in Round 2 of the 2019 NFL Draft. There are questions about whether or not it’s wise to stop prolonging the inevitable and just cut ties now.

If that winds up being the Eagles’ decision, the Birds will have options if they want to replace him. They have draft capital. They’ll have money to spend. If they go the route of exploring free agency, finding an upgrade won’t be an issue. Here are five options.
