Might the Eagles show any interest in Will Fuller?

What you’re thinking is obvious. After what the Eagles went through from a roster standpoint from 2018 to 2020, the thought of adding anyone with an injury history can be frightening.

No one talks about this now. People only talk about the result, but that could be why Philadelphia overlooked D.K. Metcalf and took Arcega-Whiteside in the first place.

During his collegiate career, Metcalf dealt with a foot injury in 2016 that ended his first season with him only appearing in two games. His final season (2018) was cut short by a neck injury. There were quite a few teams that removed him from their draft boards as a result.

It’s easy to say that he should have been a slam dunk now, but in hindsight, again, that could have factored into the Eagles’ decision.

Will Fuller was a first-round draft choice of the Houston Texans in 2016, That was 19 selections after the Eagles drafted Carson Wentz. There are issues with giving him a long-term deal. He’s never played more than 14 games in a season, and that was his rookie year. He also ended his 2021 regular season with a trip to the injured reserve. Here’s the thing though.

Like Chark, that could make his price tag less expensive. A one-year prove-it deal could be worth the risk. Fuller, if able to play, is already better than any receiver on Philly’s roster not named DeVonta Smith.
