Philadelphia Eagles Wild Card Round studs

Though this team needs a roster overhaul in the offseason, the Eagles’ first Wild Card Game since January 5th of 2020 proved that they do have some guys that they can lean on moving forward. Here are a few game balls.

1. Miles Sanders, running back

He’s been criticized all season. He’s battled injuries. He hasn’t scored a single touchdown all season. Still, with questions about whether or not he’d play after dealing with a broken hand, you can’t play much better than Miles Sanders played today.

2. Dallas Goedert, tight end

Dallas Goedert played his tail off and continues to prove that the Eagles’ decision to extend him was wise. A HUGE catch and run at the end of the first half was negated by a phantom holding call on Jason Kelce, but you can’t blame Goedert for this loss.

3. Jordan Mailata, left tackle

This is one of the backstories that won’t get talked about, but Jordan Mailata was excellent in protecting his quarterback versus an all-day onslaught from Jason Pierre-Paul. Any issues that Hurts had with JPP normally came from his decision to roll out of the pocket and into trouble.

4. DeVonta Smith, wide receiver/Kenneth Gainwell, running back/Boston Scott, running back

Watching these young guys play like this team still had a shot down the stretch gives you hope for the future. It really does. These guys make you proud to be Eagles fans even though we didn’t get the result that we wanted today.
