Potential Eagles replacements for Derek Barnett: Emmanuel Ogbah

Okay, we’re cooking with some really hot grease now! Emmanuel Ogbah is everything the Philadelphia Eagles are looking for.

It can’t be stated enough that this team isn’t just on the verge of losing Brandon Graham. They also face the reality that two other guys that they wanted to rely on for their pass rush, two other guys that were among the top four pass rushers on their depth chart, Derek Barnett and Ryan Kerrigan, are, in all likelihood, headed out of the door as well. That makes the top two guys on Philly’s depth chart Josh Sweat and Tarron Jackson if nothing changed.

The six-foot-four, 274-pound Ogbah helps stabilize the Eagles’ defensive end position the day he walks into the NovaCare Complex. He’s younger than Justin Houston. He’s a better immediate scheme fit than Haason Reddick. There’s just one immediate issue, ad this one should be obvious for anyone who’s paying attention.

Ogbah is also probably going to cost more money than those other two guys. The investment should be worth it for a contender with coins to spend. The question is, for an Eagles team that has so many needs, is this the type of investment that they need to make?
