It seems strange to talk about the NFL Scouting Combine, mock drafts, and free agency before when we haven’t even turned the calendar from January to February yet. Pro football’s ‘season’ doesn’t end when the Super Bowl wraps though, and the Philadelphia Eagles most certainly aren’t waiting until the playoffs end to begin their quest to get back to the postseason at the end of the 2022-2023 season and, hopefully, make a bit of a run.

You wouldn’t understand this if you’re a Detroit Lions or New York Jets fan. Your teams are always bad, but for many of the rest of us, a great offseason can take your team from the outhouse to the penthouse in your division. Just look at the NFC East.

As you know, there hasn’t been a repeat champion in the NFL’s money division since Philadelphia won four straight division title from 2001 to 2004. With three draft picks in the first round. After a 9-8 finish this year, signs are pointed towards better days. Hopefully, this team takes the next step.

Meet the Philadelphia Eagles 2022-2023 opponents.

Much was made about all of the Eagles’ wins coming against average or sub-par competition in 2021. You’ve seen the stats. There’s no need to revisit them, but Philly shouldn’t be vilified for winning nine games. You can only play the teams that are scheduled. The questions, however, are as follows.

Can Jalen Hurts take another step? This will be his third season. Is it possible that we might see a double-digit win total in 2022? It will be the first time that’s happened since the Birds won the Super Bowl.

As always, the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Washington Football Team will have their say in how the journey turns out. Here’s a look at the other teams standing in the way of a season to remember.

Away games

Green Bay Packers: We don’t know if Aaron Rodgers will be back, but these guys always provide a few headaches.

Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jags are in a state of flux. Hopefully, that bleeds over into their game versus the Eagles in 2022.

Minnesota Vikings: If we remember correctly, the Birds owe these guys some payback after the last time these two teams played.

New Orleans Saints: Can Philadelphia extend their winning streak over N.O. to three games? Let’s hope so!

Pittsburgh Steelers: They technically aren’t rivals, so why is it then that we always want to beat these jokers so bad?

Tennessee Titans: Tennessee has a tendency to catch the Eagles falling asleep behind the wheel sometimes, and they’ve beaten the Birds in five of the last six meetings. Let’s hope the result is different in 2022.

Home games

Arizona Cardinals: We expect fireworks between two teams that are looking to find their way.

Chicago Bears: The Eagles get their first look at Justin Fields in 2022.

Detroit Lions: Detroit has had Philadelphia’s number from time to time, but we’re hoping for a repeat performance of Week 8 of the 2021 season in this one.

Houston Texans: On any given Sunday, any team can win, but we’re hoping this game is a layup.

Indianapolis Colts: Caron Wentz returns to Philly! Expect there to be some discussion about this one in the days leading up to it.
