Ranking potential Eagles free-agent replacements for Anthony Harris
The Eagles have a huge decision to make with Anthony Harris in the offseason.
The Philadelphia Eagles marched into the 2021-2022 NFL season with high expectations for themselves even though some of the people who were watching them disagreed. The most recent offseason didn’t just introduce us to a new head coach. We met a group of young assistants, defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon included, and he put in his order for two guys he was familiar with from his time with the Minnesota Vikings.
Philly’s D.C. spent the four seasons with the Vikes (2014-2017), so it was easy to connect the dots when Eagles vice president/general manager Howie Roseman added Anthony Harris and Eric Wilson during last year’s free-agency period.
Wilson was a bad decision. He was released on November 3rd and signed by the Houston Texans one day later. Harris was a nice piece in Philadelphia’s safety rotation, but he’s at the end of a one-year prove-it deal. There are questions about whether or not he’ll be back in 2022.
Here’s a look at a few targets that could find their way to the Eagles if their current teams move on from them and Philly looks for Anthony Harris’ replacement in free agency.
