Middle-round to late-round QB prospects Eagles could target in NFL Draft

Even if the Eagles don’t draft a QB early, they may still take one in Round 4 or later.

We just can’t leave well enough alone, can we? The Philadelphia Eagles have committed to Jalen Hurts as their starter for the 2022 regular season. They’ve said that over and over again, most recently in a season-ending presser in which vice president/general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni both stuck to those guns.

The problem with that is this. We’ve seen this team tell us one thing (or hint at it) and do something other than what they’ve said more often than we care to remember.

94 WIP-FM’s Eliot Shorr-Parks, almost one full week after Nick and Howie’s sit-down with the media, offered his theory on why it shouldn’t be ruled out that the Birds might select a quarterback in the coming NFL Draft. He makes a lot of sense in that one, and he’s right. With more than ten picks in the next selection meeting, taking a QB makes sense.

Now, that doesn’t mean that they’ll take on early. They might not even take one in the second round, but after dealing Joe Flacco to the New York Jets and with the knowledge that Gardner Minshew could be trade bait in the offseason, a ‘quarterback factory’ reboot is a huge possibility.

Jalen Hurts needs a backup, especially if Minshew leaves in the offseason. Here are four mid-round to late-round prospects that Philadelphia might target if they are entertaining the idea of selecting a quarterback come April.
