Eagles who could follow Jonathan Gannon out of town (if he ever leaves)
So, it appears that Jonathan Gannon won’t leave the Eagles, for now anyway.
What a ride it’s been for Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon already. When he was hired, there were a ton of Birds fans and members of the Philly media that, if they were being honest, would tell you they had to use a Google search to learn about him. Now it feels like we’ve been talking about this guy for three NFL seasons.
Since his introduction, he’s won over said media while ticking off some of his players, Fletcher Cox included. Fletch’s frustration was echoed by Javon Hargrave. Gannon, to his credit, put all of those fires immediately and got his best players back on board.
Hey! That’s a sign of good coaching, right?
It’s funny how quickly things change in the NFL. We’ve gone from discussing whether or not the Eagles should can him after one season to discussing the interest he’s been shown by other franchises for their vacant head-coaching positions.
We know he was a candidate that the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings were both considering. Now, at the time of this story being written and published, he’s a finalist for the Houston Texans job. Take a look for yourselves.
It appears that the chances of Jonathan Gannon remaining with the Eagles in 2022 are present, but if he isn’t or if he ever leaves, here are a few Birds that may follow in no particular order.
