It’s time for the Philadelphia Eagles to think outside of the box.

The days are trickling away in February, and March is on the horizon. Sure, that means the NBA has their All-Star Weekend to prepare for, but who cares about that? We’re kidding (sort of), but it’s football season, even if the Super Bowl is over because the Philadelphia Eagles have an opportunity to get better and the NFL is a 12-month-a-year business.

There may not be a game to play, but this is one of the best times of the calendar year. There’s an NFL Scouting Combine to prepare for. That will be the first time the Eagles have an opportunity to get a look at the next class of future NFL stars in a series of on-field workouts and drills. Once that’s over, we’ll be talking about free agency.

We’ve all pinpointed the troubled areas on this roster (wide receiver, cornerback, and safety among others). We’ve debated which positions should be discussed first. We’ve even tossed ideas back and forth about dream targets, like wide receiver Mike Williams or safety Marcus Williams (or both).

The Birds will have to be wise in their roster decisions. They just can’t make a list of the best (and most expensive) players, go down said list, and sign all of them. Here are four of some of the less-talked-about targets that could tickle their fancy and potentially give them some solid chess pieces without forcing them to break the bank. Feel free to add a few names of your own that you’ve been thinking about as well.
