How have the Eagles not considered Cordarrelle Patterson before?

Okay, this is going to be hard for some of you to believe. You might even see this as being funny.

If you’re surprised by seeing Cordarrelle Patterson‘s name on this list, mull this over if you will. We’re just as surprised at ourselves for placing his name in the discussion, but we shouldn’t be.

The 2022 NFL season will be Patterson’s tenth at football’s highest level, and even though he’s never proven to be excellent at anything other than being a kick returner, he’s good to above average at everything else that a skill-position player is asked to do.

In 2021, with the Atlanta Falcons, Patterson led the Atlanta Falcons in rushing yards (618), rushing touchdowns (six), and receiving touchdowns (five). He was second on the team in kick-return yards, and third in receiving yards. You do know that this team had Calvin Ridley, Mike Davis, Kyle Pitts, and Hayden Hurst on the roster, right?

Patterson has been voted to the Pro Bowl four times (2013, 2016, 2019, 2020). He was a First-Team All-Pro nod four times (2013, 2016, 2019, 2020) and a Second-Team All-Pro on three different occasions (2015, 2018, 2019). He’s also a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

Heck, he’s played for five NFL franchises. The Eagles might as well give him a shot. It isn’t like they have an embarrassment of riches on the offensive side of the ball and have the luxury of turning guys down that can help this team make a few big plays.

Cordarrelle Patterson satisfies about three issues the Eagles have just by showing up to the NovaCare Complex. He gives them a true kick returner, another tailback, and another set of hands in the passing game. Can you imagine if we were still in the Andy Reid era and Big Red got a hold of this guy in his prime?

Look, all we’re saying is he’s someone they might want to think about. Just think of the possibilities. In all honesty, he’s everything that we were told Jalen Reagor was supposed to be.
