player. 10. . . . Tyrod Taylor, Texans.

Tyrod Taylor has always been underrated, but the Eagles should steer clear.

Quietly, Tyrod Taylor has carved out a decent NFL career for himself. A Pro Bowler in 2015, the 2022-2023 NFL season will be his 12th. We’ve had plenty of time to learn what his ceiling is though. He’s better suited to be a backup that can come in to win a few games if something happens to the franchise.

Like Mariota, he’ll be one of the top five or six QBs available in free agency, along with guys like Jameis Winston and Cam Newton, but also like Mariota, the Eagles should steer clear. They need to spend time looking at guys who deserve to start, not another insurance policy.

. . Ryan Fitzpatrick, Commanders. . player. 58.

We’re begging you. Please don’t start any ‘Fitzmagic to the Eagles’ rumors.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is on this list for two reasons. First, Eagles fans and the Philly media tend to fall in love with shiny toys, even if that love turns out to be fleeting, and second, the Eagles organization and fan base are so hungry for wins that, after falling in love with ‘Minshew Mania’, we could hear a few groans about there being a few hunger pains for some ‘Fitzmagic’.

Don’t you worry about a thing. We’re here to kill any rumors before they get started. Fitz will also be among the more attractive free agents that will be available at the quarterback position, but that alone should tell you how thin the pool is. His quest to play for all 32 teams continues. Still, there’s no real buzz surrounding the chance that he winds up in the City of Brotherly Love, nor should they be.
