The Eagles have something special in Tarron Jackson.

We won’t lie. Hearts were heavy when Brandon Graham was lost for the season in 2021. Philly lost a locker-room leader as well as one of their vocal on-field captains.

To make matters worse, the Eagles didn’t get anything out of Ryan Kerrigan. Derek Barnett was, well, Derek Barnett, but thankfully, Josh Sweat took the next step, earning his first Pro Bowl nod albeit as an alternate.

Then there was Philadelphia’s sixth-round rookie, Tarron Jackson. This is without question, someone who can morph into a star as long as he gets proper coaching. As you know, that can sometimes be lacking in the City of Brotherly Love, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

As we near free agency, the expectation is Barnett and Kerrigan are out of here. B.G. should be back, and the belief is he’ll sign a one-year deal. If the Birds draft an edge star and Jackson takes the next step, this could be a ferocious pass rush.

Tarron notched 18 tackles, a forced fumble, and a sack in 2021. With another year of experience and more opportunities, those numbers could quadruple in 2022.
