You’ve probably heard that this is a huge offseason for the Eagles, right?

Welcome to the NFL offseason, where rumors are aplenty and everyone is a de facto general manager. There may not be a game to prepare for, but there’s no shortage of storylines as the Philadelphia Eagles look to build on a year in which they made the postseason despite people tossing around phrases like ‘throwaway season, ‘rebuilding year’, and ‘Jalen Hurts audition’.

Much was learned, especially about this team’s roster deficiencies. Many of the ones we’ve identified are familiar. Philly needs a stud at linebacker. They have to find another outside cornerback to start on the opposite side of the defensive formation from Darius Slay. They always seem to need another safety and wide receiver.

There are several ways that the Philadelphia Eagles can attack the coming offseason. Some have suggested they trade for Russell Wilson. Others believe that they should spend each of those three first-round draft picks on the defensive side of the ball. Some believe Tyler Linderbaum is a no-brainer if he falls to the 15th-overall selection. If you subscribe to any of those theories, you won’t have any issues with finding someone to agree with you.

Let’s visit the other side of the discussion now. With this being a huge offseason for the Birds and Howie Roseman, there’s money to spend and draft capital to utilize. Building a winner will take some work, but Philadelphia has minimal room for error. Here are four ways that they can avoid disaster over the next several months.
