As free agency approaches, the Eagles are expected to be players, perhaps.

The Philadelphia Eagles were not expected to perform as well as they did this season. Expected by many to earn a top-five pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, this team surprised the critics and earned a playoff berth. There are still a lot of question marks heading into next season though. Will the Eagles replace Brandon Brooks in free agency or promote internally? Will Jason Kelce retire? Is Jalen Hurts the answer at quarterback?

One thing the 2021-2022 season taught us was there are significant holes on the roster. The Eagles played some good teams and were exposed by each and every one of them, winning zero of their six matchups versus playoff teams. That shouldn’t be taken lightly because it shows what the Birds need to do if they want to hang with the NFC’s best.

Philadelphia, as you know, has three first-round picks in the coming NFL Draft, and they’ll use them to upgrade positions of need. With that thought in mind, they’ll tackle free agency first. No one knows how aggressive they’ll be, but there are still quality players out there who would be good and immediate fits. One we’ve discussed before, and two more who are under-the-radar but solid.
