Potential Eagles free-agent target JuJu Smith Schuster

He may be known for his social media presence, but the Philadelphia Eagles should be taking a few extra glances and pointing their cameras towards JuJu Smith-Schuster. When fans bring him up, terms like ‘underwhelming’ or ‘washed’ might roll off of the tongue, but this is someone that could upgrade the Eagles wide receiver corps, even if they’re only interested in inking him to a one-year deal.

Ever since Antonio Brown and the Steelers parted ways, Smith-Schuster hasn’t looked the same since he was promoted to the top spot on the depth chart. His numbers with Brown as a teammate (2,343 yards and 14 touchdowns in two years) pale in comparison to what he’s done since (1,512 yards and 12 touchdowns in the three seasons).

Things change when every defense shifts its attention to you, and despite only appearing in five games during the 2021-2022 NFL season, it’s obvious that he can’t be the focal point of a team’s passing attack.

Even with Chase Claypool and Diontae Johnson as teammates, he hasn’t been able to flourish, and that could cause you to worry as an Eagles fan. Still, if the Eagles were in favor of adding him, let’s say on a one-year, prove-it deal, it’s hard to deny that a trio including him, Devonta Smith, and Quez Watkins, could give Philly’s offense a few x-factors, potentially.
