Potential Eagles free-agent target Trai Turner

Keeping Trai Turner in-state by snatching from the great state of Pennsylvania’s other team could prove useful for the Eagles as they look to maintain the production of their offensive line.

Brandon Brooks, though he’s gone, was a warrior for Philly. Now, it’s time to discuss the next man up. The Eagles have done a decent job of getting younger along their offensive front (Andre Dillard, Jordan Mailata, Jack Driscoll), but this is the first time, probably since replacing Jason Kelce, that they’ve had to make a replacement of this magnitude.

They have strong candidates to consider for internal promotions, but if they look to free agency, there are solid options there as well. Enter Trai Turner. He’s hopped around the league, but he made the Pro Bowl in five of his first six seasons, so we know he can play. Might Philly end this recent tour of duty that he’s been on?

Not only is Trai Turner a Pro Bowl-caliber player, but he’s also protected some other Pro Bowlers like Cam Newton (while he was in his prime), so he’s no stranger to protecting mobile quarterbacks like Jalen Hurts.

Turner can also provide another safeguard if Jason Kelce retires. Kelce has stated that he wants to return but also wants to make sure that it’s in his best interest if he does. With his future being uncertain and with Issac Seumalo and, Jack Driscoll coming off of injuries, it would be nice to have some insurance. Who knows? Turner could wind up being a key piece for a few years.
