Why do draft experts keep mocking Drake London to the Eagles?

Okay, before we go any further, something has to be mentioned here. One, if your entire reason for moving off of the hype that once surrounded Drake London stems from the fact that Nelson Agholor played his college ball at USC and ‘you don’t like wide receivers from the Pac-12’, we need you to be a little more detailed in your analysis.

That’s like saying you’ll never take another cornerback from the Washington Huskies because Sidney Jones played there, and trust us on this one. Trent McDuffie might be the third-best cornerback in this year’s draft class.

We almost have to mention London, however, because so many draft pundits have mocked him to the Eagles with one of those first-round draft choices. Indeed, as sad as this is to say, Philadelphia, thanks to bad decision-making at the wide receiver position, is STILL in the market for a starting-caliber player, but gambling on yet another draft prospect in Round 1 would, more than likely, prove to be an exercise in futility.

On one hand, this organization has proven to be so inept in scouting the position that most of us would prefer they trade for one or sign someone who’s already proven in free agency. On the other hand, once we close the draft’s first night, Drake London is probably already off of everyone’s board anyway.

There’s a lot to like here. He’s not really a speedster though, and on top of that, seeing as how he’s coming off of a season-ending ankle fracture, Philly’s probably better suited to use a first-rounder to strengthen another position.
