4 Philadelphia Eagles who don’t deserve another season in 2022
K’Von Wallace isn’t going to evolve into the safety the Eagles need him to be.
With each passing day, K’Von Wallace drifts further into anonymity. Think about it. It’s completely possible to spend three consecutive days talking about the Eagles and never bring him up (or think about him).
As it seemingly is every offseason, there’s this feeling that the Birds need one more body than they have at the safety position. Anthony Harris is, in all likelihood, out of here. People are split on whether or not Rodney McLeod should get another year. Some say Philadelphia should allow him to explore his options in free agency and cross their fingers in hope that he’ll be available later on down the road.
Marcus Epps has shown that he can be serviceable, but we have less evidence of that with Wallace. Sure, once we reach Round 4 in any draft, teams are hoping, not expecting, that the guys they select will be contributors, but we’re approaching year three for K’Von. Decisions need to be made.
We can discuss special teams value, but more often than not, those guys come a dime a dozen. Philly can find someone to cover punts and kickoffs if they put an effort forth. Heading into the offseason, they’d be better suited to invest some money in free agency and add another prospect in the draft. K’Von Wallace isn’t going to grow into the versatile player we were told that he was capable of becoming.
