Will Fuller could be a home run for the Eagles but only if he can stay healthy.
Everyone knows that Will Fuller could evolve into one of the game’s best wideouts if he can stay on the playing field. He entered the 2016 NFL Draft as one of the class’s polished prospects after earning a Second-Team All-American nod in his final season with Notre Dame at the collegiate level.
Unfortunately, one of the more well-known narratives of Fuller’s career has been that he hasn’t been able to stay healthy or complete a full season’s worth of games.
In 2020, he was suspended for the final five games of the Houston Texans’ season (and the first game of the 2021 campaign with his new team, the Miami Dolphins) for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
As far as injuries are concerned, at various points during his first six seasons in the NFL, he’s dealt with a broken finger, a groin injury, a foot injury, a left knee injury, a right ACL tear, cracked ribs and sustained hamstring issues. No one gets stronger and sturdier as they get older, but Fuller is still young. He turns 28 on April 16th.
He isn’t worth the $10 million cap hit he represented on the Dolphins’ payroll in 2021, but if teams shy away due to concerns and the Birds can land him for a discount, he could be worth considering.
