It felt like we were watching a movie we had seen before but couldn’t remember the title or who we were watching it with. Then, the answers became crystal clear when we saw Robert Griffin III on the field with the NFL Scouting Combine’s quarterback prospects in Indianapolis during the first night of workouts. This is definitely a re-run for Philadelphia Eagles fans.

Once upon a time (it was 2012 to be exact), we all thought we had it figured out… and we did. Andrew Luck and RG3 were shoo-ins to be the first two quarterbacks in that year’s NFL Draft. They ended up going first and second during that meeting, and Griffin landed with a rival, Washington.

There’s still a lot to work out during the current offseason, but the QB picture, from a draft standpoint, seems to be coming into focus as well. Once we reach the end of April, former Pitt Panthers standout Kenny Pickett figures to be the first signal-caller off of the board. Liberty’s Malik Willis figures to be the second quarterback taken. The question is this. Where might they end up?

Don’t rule out the possibility of Malik Willis landing with an Eagles rival.

We’ve long known the draft order for April’s selection meeting, and sure, even though we can make well-informed and educated guesses, none of us know how these things will work out. Some see the Jacksonville Jaguars taking Evan Neal. Others think Ickey Ekwonu should be the first-overall selection. Others still say the Jags’ best bet is to go with an edge rusher, Aidan Hutchison.

In terms of quarterbacks, it’s believed by many that the first mention of Pickett may come when the Carolina Panthers are on the clock with the sixth-overall selection (if the New York Giants don’t decide to grab him one spot earlier).

Denver could be in the market for a quarterback, but they could also have Aaron Rodgers by April too. That’s what makes the Washington Commanders so interesting at 11. With Pickett off of the board, how could they not go with Malik Willis?

In less than 24 hours, we’ve seen him help someone in need AND throw one of the prettiest deep balls we saw on night one. Take a look.

For a Washington Commanders team that desperately needs a signal-caller and an infusion of energy, this could be the obvious selection, much like RG3 was almost ten years ago.

Trending. Risky wide receivers who are still worth considering. light

In two seasons with the Liberty Flames (23 games), Willis completed 62 percent of his passes, threw for over 5,107 yards, and tossed 47 touchdowns. He picked up another 1,822 yards and scored 27 more times with his legs.

If Washington is interested and any of that translates, the Eagles could have something to think about in terms of their rivals from our nation’s capital for the next ten seasons or so. Malik Willis is that kind of special. We’ll have to wait and see how things unfold.
