The Eagles should ignore Deshaun Watson and roll the dice with Jalen Hurts.

We mentioned rumors and news earlier. We’re all privy to rumors that have surrounded Deshaun Watson. We’re also aware of some news to report.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the district attorney assigned to Watson’s case plans to present to a grand jury on Friday. That’s the same day as Watson’s civil deposition.

Rusty Hardin, Deshaun’s attorney, told Pelissero that a request to delay the deposition until Monday was denied, and in light of the news, Watson will exercise his fifth amendment privilege.

Here’s more from Pelissero:

We’re not here to determine guilt or innocence in terms of what’s going on with Watson’s case, but here’s what we will say. Though there’s a contingent that still believes Watson is an upgrade for Hurts and they believe he still makes sense in terms of the Eagles potentially making a trade to acquire his services, the best thing for Philadelphia to do, at this point, is go ahead with what’s been Plan A all offseason (even if we haven’t believed them when they’ve said it).

Wilson and Rodgers are off of the table. It’s time to erase Watson’s name from the whiteboard as well. Roll the dice with Jalen Hurts for another season, and let’s see what happens.

Most of the teams in the NFL have questions for one reason or another about their signal-caller anyway. Maybe Philly does need to exercise a little more patience.
