The Eagles can upgrade their pass rush in a hurry during free agency.

It doesn’t take long to give the Philadelphia Eagles‘ roster the once over and identify what the problem areas are. They’re the same areas we discuss every year.

We want them to go out and land a stud linebacker every offseason, even if we don’t believe that they will. They need an outside cornerback to complement Darius Slay on the other side of the defensive formation. Wide receivers and depth at safety are needed. Heck, we can argue that, by the time free agency begins, they’ll need to replace both of their starting safeties.

However you slice it and regardless of who you have your eyes on, here’s what we all can agree on. Howie Roseman and company have work to do, and part of the offseason battle plan must include adding playmakers at the EDGE position.

Two of the Eagles’ top four players from the 2021 roster’s depth chart at the defensive end position are, more than likely, out of here. Derek Barnett’s time with the organization is ending. Ryan Kerrigan’s tenure here was a disaster.

Be it through the NFL Draft or the coming free-agency cycle (or both), Philadelphia must add to their rotation of pass rushers. They can’t rely totally on an aging Brandon Graham who’s coming off of an injury. Here’s a ranking of potential EDGE targets in free agency’s pool if they’re interested in making a move.
