The dots are connected between the Eagles and Lions again.

We don’t ever see any pictures of NFL general managers hanging out together and flicking it up for Instagram, but some guys tend to talk to each other more than they talk to some of the other guys who are busy trying to bang out a few contracts and bolster their rosters.

The Birds seem to watch a lot of Detroit Lions football and vice versa. The lines we can draw between both franchises are obvious and continual.

You can bring up big-time trades that send Darius Slay to the City of Brotherly Love. We can reference the Lions’ decision to add Halapoulivaati Vaitai to their roster in free agency. There was also the time that Philly claimed Jason Huntley off of waivers after the Lions waived him.

Here’s one that would fall under the category of splash signings. Charles Harris is a monster. In his lone season with the Lions, he racked 65 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He figures to hit the open market, and while there may be questions about whether or not Harris is a scheme fit, no one should worry about his ability to tailor his style of play to fit in with Jonathan Gannon’s guys.

Harris is still young. He just turned 27 on March 6th, so he has a lot of good football to play. He’s also less expensive than some of the game’s more notable EDGE stars. This one makes a ton of sense for the Eagles. The question is are they interested in making their pitch to land him.
