Expect some surprises from the Eagles during free agency and the NFL Draft.

Just as every calendar year does, 2022 is flying by. Can you believe that March is more than halfway over? The new NFL year is underway. The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to be better than they were last season, and snagging Haason Reddick was a huge step forward in making that happen.

Last year’s version of this team finished the regular season with a mark of 9-8. Still, even though we’re familiar with the boss and general manager, Jeffrey Lurie and the newly-minted Howie Roseman respectively (Howie’s signed a three-year extension), the direction that this team wants to head towards still seems uncertain.

We’ve been told 200 times that Jalen Hurts is this team’s quarterback going forward. We still don’t believe it. Few believe that defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon can get it done. There’s excitement in knowing that the Eagles have three first-round draft choices and an accompanying fear in knowing that it’s Howie who will make the final decision on who’s taken.

The NFL Draft will be here before you know it. The second wave of free agency figures to hand us a few surprises. Here are bold predictions for both stages of the offseason process.
