At least five of the Eagles’ unrestricted free agents will be back at some point.

By now, you’ve watched the Eagles handle business long enough to know that, just because they let someone go, it doesn’t mean we’ve seen that player for the final time. Since 2017, we’ve welcomed everyone from Nick Foles and DeSean Jackson to Vinny Curry back to the nest at some point or another.

Once the clock struck 4 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 16th, Philadelphia said goodbye to 11 familiar faces. Nothing was overwhelmingly surprising. Quite a few holes exist on the team’s depth chart as a result.

Hopefully, those holes will be filled with upgrades during the second wave of free agency. The coming NFL Draft, scheduled for the end of April, will be a nice opportunity to add players as well.

There is, however, a developing issue. With each passing day, a difference-maker that the Eagles definitely could have used signs with someone else, and the talent pool is watered down.

It’s for that reason, that no one should be surprised if you see quite a few of these guys in Eagles jerseys again. It isn’t out of the realm of possibility that guys like Rodney McLeod, Steven Nelson, Hassan Ridgeway, Boston Scott, and Alex Singleton might return if they don’t have a huge market for their services after the draft as we approach training camp and the preseason.
