The Eagles add two young guns to their secondary on Day 2.

There’s no reason to expect that, after the Eagles trade the third of three first-round draft choices, by the time we reach Round 2 on Day 2, Sauce Gardner, Derek Stingley, Trent McDuffie, and Daxton Hill wouldn’t have already caught a plane and found their way to the cities of their respective teams.

Philly could have easily landed one of those guys on Day 1, but seeing as how they didn’t, the onus is on them to find a complement to Darius Slay with their third selection. The choice here is Andrew Booth out of the Clemson Tigers program.

He’s been connected to the Eagles in several mocks but often in Round 1. Hearing his name on Day 2 seems more realistic as, once the top four corners are off of the board, Kyler Gordon, Kaiir Elam, and Roger McCreary will be the next three players taken at that position, making Andrew Booth available and the Eagles selection once they’re on the clock at 51.

In 2021, he tallied 37 total tackles, three picks, and five pass breakups in 11 games en route to a First-Team All-ACC nod. Some believe the scheme helped him more than he helped the scheme, but don’t worry about that. He’s a reach in Round 1 worth the risk in Round 2.
