DeSean Jackson. 5. player. 28. . .

Add the greatest deep-threat in history to a list of former Eagles in search of new homes.

Who would have thought, when the Eagles traded a 2019 sixth-round compensatory selection (one that was used to help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers add Scotty Miller) and they gained a 2020 seventh-round selection and DeSean Jackson in the process, that two bombs from Carson Wentz in D-Jax’s first game back and another from Jalen Hurts in a losing effort versus the Dallas Cowboys would be the extent of our pleasant memories about DeSean’s second run in the midnight green?

Okay, that was a mouthful, but here’s the point. Age catches up to everyone at some point, even the greatest deep-threat in NFL history. We love DeSean, so the last thing that we want to see is the game retiring him before he decides to do it on his own. Unfortunately, if he signs somewhere, the latter scenario might be the one we wind up seeing.

We can make a Hall-of-Fame argument with ease here. He’s proven his mettle. Now, it may be time for DeSean to ride off into the sunset. More than 11,000 receiving yards and 58 touchdowns have given us plenty to remember him by.
