NFL free agents Eagles, Howie Roseman should be praised for ignoring
Believe it or not, the Eagles could have screwed things up in March.
Imagine going to a New Year’s Eve celebration, and there’s no firework show. That’s how some of the Philadelphia Eagles fan base is feeling right now. Other than some immediate news that there would be a welcome home party for Haason Reddick, there hasn’t been much sizzle or any sign of a steak.
The NFL kicked off a new league year officially on March 16th. Some thought we’d see the Birds be more aggressive than they have been in years, but that’s okay. We’ve been hoping that they’d make waves with a phenomenal draft class, and that could be the plan.
Sure, it’s hard not to fantasize about these great players in free agency signing on to play ball in the City of Brotherly Love. It’s also easy to understand why you’re frustrated if you’re clueless on why this team is ‘running it back’ with a squad that clawed its way to a 9-8 record and a blowout loss in the postseason.
It’s always good to be smart though. Even though the Eagles have been criticized for their offseason thus far, everyone should take a deep breath and relax. Regardless of how you feel today, find some joy in knowing Philly didn’t do something franchise-altering (like giving up a king’s ransom for Russell Wilson).
Things could have been a whole lot worse. They could have been lured into emotional signings that would have led to overspending and bad contracts. As you look at this list of players this organization should be praised for ignoring, take some time to give some thanks because, for the most part, that hasn’t been the case.

The Eagles have been criticized for their offseason thus far, but it could have been worse. Be thankful that they didn’t pursue the guys on this list.
